Each year Idol Sports and Gonzaga University choose to recognize someone who has made significant contributions to the game of basketball in the Pacific Northwest.  A reception is held in their honor the evening before the Comcast Battle in Seattle.  The evening is filled with speeches from the head coaches of the two schools playing in the game as well as other prominent basketball figures.  The honoree is awarded with a trophy and is also acknowledged during halftime of the game.  The reception is open to the public, but limited to a small number of participants.

Past honorees include Marv Harshman, Don Monson, Jud Heathcote, Jerry Krause, George Raveling and Frank Burgess.
