2007 Comcast Battle in Seattle Game Preview
The 2007 Comcast Battle in Seattle should be another great non-conference basketball game, but it may also resemble a track meet. Saying that the game will contain a fast paced tempo might be an understatement as both the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers like to push the ball up the court and have no trouble scoring. Currently both teams rank inside the top 20 in points per game with the Bulldogs at 19th with 78.5 points per game and the Volunteers at 9th with 80.9 points per game. November 5, 2007 - Tyler Hansbrough's junior year at North Carolina has begun much the same way his sophomore did, as the leading vote-getter on The Associated Press' preseason All-America team. The 6-foot-9 forward was one vote shy of a unanimous pick Monday and was joined by senior center Roy Hibbert of Georgetown, senior guard Chris Lofton of Tennessee, senior guard Drew Neitzel of Michigan State and junior guard Darren Collison of UCLA. Zags boast more athleticism
SPOKANE, Wash. - October 22, 2007 - Athleticism is definitely the new catch word: The Zags expect to run even more and be much more effective on the defensive end this season. Gonzaga coach Mark Few said all the negative defensive talk about the program started with Adam Morrison a few years ago. And he said the Zags weren't as poor defensively a year ago. SPOKANE, Wash. - September 12, 2007 - Gonzaga basketball player Josh Heytvelt could be returning to the team after being suspended for possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Heytvelt, 21, has done nearly 300 hours of community service, far more than required, and is meeting other obligations. June 26, 2007 - With two verbal commitments from Sweet Sixteen teams last year cancelling their plans to play against Gonzaga this coming season, an opponent has still not been determined for the December contest.
