With two verbal commitments from Sweet Sixteen teams last year cancelling their plans to play against Gonzaga this coming season, an opponent has still not been determined for the December contest. At this point there are no less than three teams interested in the game. Northwest Sports & Entertainment Director, John A. Hines, has stated that a team is expected to be announced any day. “It is our goal to still be selective and get the best possible match-up available for Gonzaga.”

The most likely date for the event is December 29th, however nothing is set until team and television negotiations are complete. Tickets are expected to go on sale again this September with Northwest Sports introducing a guaranteed seat for the 2007, 2008, and 2009 games in Seattle’s KeyArena.
